Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah by Aneesh (Review)

Story: A romantic comedy based on unconditional love. Most part of the movie was placed in Islamic background and values. Islamic values were portrayed in a very beautiful way.  Nice and decent first half. But the movie's story was a bit out of direction in second half. The rational behind the conclusion is still ambiguous. There is a unnecessary conflict in the movie which will drag the climax. Climax could have been done better . It was a creative story but bad plotting.

Cast: Jai as Vijayraghavan Chaari/ Abu Bakkar. Nothing much to say of his role. Just the same boy next door look with his normal gestures and humour. His dialogue deliverance was good but nothing much to say about his acting. Nazriya Nazim as Priya/Aisya. She plays lady love of Jai in the movie. She was cute and bubbly. But it will remind you of same Nazriya from Raja Rani. Nothing more or less. Heebah Patel was another lead lady which played Nazima. Others were supporting character played by many not so well known casts.

Screenplay: The movie had major editing problem which made the movie out of track in second half. I think the director had some other ending in mind but changed it in last minute. Too bad, it was not that aligned with the first half. The romantic scenes were sweet and nice. But I don't get what was the issue behind the conflict faced by the main character in the movie. Why it was made to be seen intense? The first song sequence, the rain was uneven and quite obvious. I think it's mainly due to cinematography. The angles were not right and the camera quality was average. But I was kind of impressed with the art direction for Kanukkul Pothi Vaippen song. The colour combination of the Golu background and costumes matched well. Songs were a spoiler in many circumstances. The song sequence was a bit old school. But I loved the way the director portrayed the scene where Jai learns about Islam. But at the end of the movie I felt that the title of the movie doesn't match the movie.

Music: The music composed by M.Ghibran. The songs were good but the sequence were average

Plus Point: First Half, Romance and Comedy

Minus Point: Second Half, Story and Editing

Verdict: An average movie which could have been done better with more rational in second half.

Vaayai Moodi Pesavum By Balaji Mohan (Review)

Story:Fictional and imaginary story. A very creative way to convey message to people. The beauty of the movie is every character in the movie has strong role to keep the movie going. Very good romance, family value, friendship and humanity instilled. First class comedy and a very feel good story.

Cast: Dulquer Salman as Aravind. Son of Mamootty made his debut in Kollywood through this movie. Good looking and talented. Has a lot of potential. He did very well with his chocolate boy role. A very optimistic character well played. Nazriya Nazim as Anjana. She was cute and amazing in this movie. A very meaty performance I would say. She builds up the character very well. Madhubala as Vidya. She made a comeback after so long and totally worth it. Because she played an excellent housewife character. A lot of supporting character with meaty role played by Pandiarajan, Vinu Chakravarthy, John Vijay, Robo Shankar, Ramesh Thilak and many others.

Screenplay: An awesome screenplay, something different for a commercial Tamil movie. In midst of times where punch dialogues are well utilized in movies, Balaji Mohan made 40% of the movie into a silent film. Good thing about it is, this digs good acting performance from each one of them since they had to portray everything without dialogues. And his comedy sense is so good. Eventhough it was not as intense as Kathalil Sothapuvathu Epidi, but it will definitely make you burst out of laughter. And a lot of good messages instilled in the movie and very well written dialogues. Creating a imaginary disease and life around it was simply superb. But it was slightly draggy at a point but not that obvious. I love the cinematography and location choice.

Music: The music composed by Sean Roldan. Average music

Plus Point: Story, Screenplay and Acting.

Minus Point: Slight buffer in scenes.

Verdict: A flu which will keep you healthy. Worth watching in cinema with your family.

Naiyaandi by Sargunam (Review)

Story: A story with rural background. It resembles a lot sargunam's first movie Kalavaani at first. Nothing much can be said about the story of the movie. It was meant to be commercial with lots of comedy, drama and action. But the movie was still lack of good plotting. I think the director is out of idea after Vaagai Sooda va. Since it's dhanush movie, audience will expect some rich narration in the movie.

Cast: Dhanush played chinnavaandu, nothing is impossible kind of role. All  of us know how good he is in acting but there was not much scope for him to show his skills in this movie. More like instant village boy who is ambitious about his love. Some of his reactions in second half will make you laugh your lungs out. Nazriya played Vanaroja, bubbly and pampered heroine character. But this movie doesn't sync with her bubbly character. I believe this movie requires more matured village character which challenge the hero character.  But maybe she can get people's attention with her cute look. Other than that Vanaroja wont stay in people's mind for long. And the we have Soori to handle the comedy. I would say he is a mixture of Vivek and Vadivelo. He get himself in trouble and come up with good catchy dialogues which makes us laugh as well. Vamsi Krishna played the role of the Villain. For me he does have a good badass look. But he don't have that many scenes in the movie. And there are quite a lot of supporting characters like Sriman, Pyramid Natarjan, Satyan and Imman Annachi.

Screenplay: This is a major fall for National Award winner like Sargunam and Dhanush. Only good things about the movie was the second half comedy. All the romance and action scenes were ridiculous. Too many commercial elements. Songs not aligned with the movie. Too much of cliche I would say. Mixture of Kalavaani and a few of dhanush past movies. Even the cinematography were outdated, felt like watching 90's movie.

Music: Composed by M.Ghibran. Only Teddy Bear sticks in mind. Others were just a passing cloud.

Plus Point: Comedy

Minus Point:Story, Screenplay, Music, Cinematography

Verdict: Not a good movie to watch at cinema.

Raja Rani by Atlee (Review)

Story:A romantic comedy with heavy star cast. Multi-narration plot with sweet and soothing moments. Full Love, romance, comedy and dramatic moments. Usual story of love after marriage, not to say it is a fresh effort. But this type of movie didn't come up for a very long time. It definitely keep you entertained for 2 and 1/2 hours.

Cast: Arya is back with a comical role. He plays John, a pesimistic character due to his past incidents. Arya hardly does romantic movies, this can be a very good platform to show his lover boy look. He did what he does in most movie, making people laugh with his expressions. Nayanthara played Regina, Johns wife. A very serious and straight forward character. Arya and Nayathara has a good chemistry. It was a great come back for her. Jai plays Surya. His role was similar to his previous movie engeyum epothum. He definitely will make you burst out of laughter. Nazriya is the second lead named Keerthana. A very cute and bubbly character. Her Cuteness is just too damn high. Her character is the turning point of the movie. And there are few supporting characters like Satyaraj as Nayanthara's father, Santhanam as Sarathy and etc.

Screenplay: Of course in cinema world there should hardcore action and some softcore romance. After so long this is a very soft and light romantice movie in lines with Jillunu Oru Kathal. Good Cinematography, the shading and lighting was good. It created a good mood and feel for the movie. Screenplay and dialogues were enjoyable. But there were some repetitive dialogues that is not consistent with the timeline. 2 different people with no relation saying out same dialogue doesnt make sense. But that is just a minor flaws. Some scenes were nothing new to indian cinema like climax airport scene. But it is nice to see those type romance after so long. But the love, message, comedy and BGM is great mixture of good entertaining movie. Good job for a first-timer. Kudos

Music: Composed by GV Prakaash Kumar. Major plus point of the movie. but Angyaage song went missing.

Plus Point: Screenplay, Cast, BGM and Story

Minus Point:Minor Dialogues issues, Some usual indian movie scenes, a little bit draggy.

Verdict: You may watch this in cinema if you liked Jillunu Oru Kathal. It gives the same feel

Neram by Alphonse Putharen (Review)

Story:A rich story with multiple characters and the connection between them. A good romance, thriller, comedy and action. Well planned narration and a good way to pass the message to the audience. The plotting were similar to Aaranya Kaandam, how one character get involved with each and every key characters in the movie. The conclusion was kind of epic. Well done job for a newcomer.

Cast: The youtube viral "Nenjodu Cherthu" song pair Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim were casted as the lead characters in the movie. Nivin Pauly played Vetri. He did quite good for a debutant. Very good body language and acting. Well played action scenes full of energy. overall it was a good beginning. Nazriya Nazim played Veni. She is so cute and a good choice of lead lady. The chemistry worked very well for both of them. Dialogue presentation was good since she is well versed in Tamil. Unlike many actresses who cant even speak tamil and spoil the lip sync. A supportive character for the movie. And then we have Simhaa who is going places with Naalaiya Iyakunar directors movies like Pizza, Kathalil Sothapuvathu Epidi and Soothu Kavvum. He played Vatti Raja, a badass loan shark and one of his best performance. He had his own punch dialogue or tagline in this movie. He is the main villain and an Important booster for the movie. John Vijay played S.I. Kattu Kunju. He did what he does best, a comical police officer. Well played. RJ Ramesh Thilak as a pickpocketer by the name Lighthouse. He is the turning point of the movie. And then we have a cameo by Nassar and a few supporting characters like Thambi Ramaiah, Charlie, Ananth Nag, Shabareesh Varma, Crane Manohar, Deepak Nathan and many more.

Screenplay: One of the best screenplay I've watched in recent times. So many characters and the director manage to link them accordingly in a day event. The interconnection were well planned, hardly can see a flaws there. The director manage to place good level of balance in romance. thriller, comedy and action. None of it overlap each other. Very good editing. it was done by the director himself. without the editing the movie is nothing. Good transitions for each and every scene. The cinematography deserves credits. Good shade of colours and angles. The best is chasing scenes, the camera movement was superb. The were quite a lot of slow-motion in this movie. This is something you will come across in Malayalam movies. Since the director is a malayalee and the movie was made in both Tamil and Malayalam, the touch is there. But the slow-motion did suit certain scenes but not all. The first half was slightly draggy but the second half was energetic till the end. He added both slow and fast elements to show high and low of the movie. The BGM is another booster for the movie. It really gave life for the scenes. Especially the "Pistah" soundtrack, really made the scenes energetic. Kaathal Enulle also well picturized. Cute and romantic. And finally the director manage deliver the message clearly to the audience. After every bad time there's always a good time.

Music: Composed by Rajesh Murugesan, it was awesome. good sense of music.

Plus Point: Story and plotting, Screenplay, Cast, Editing, Cinematography, Music

Minus Point:Draggy first half, unnecessary slow-motion

Verdict: You may watch this in cinema if you liked Aaranya Kaandam way of narration. But this movie has good commercial value and everyone would enjoy it.
