Endrendrum Punagai by I. Mueenuddin Ahmed (Review)

Story: A story of friendship, bromance between 3 guys. Unlike Nanban@3idiots, it was more on egoism and domination. Not an adaptation of dil chahtha hai either. The characters were centralized towards hero character but how the characters around him brings enlightenment. Beautifully portrayed. Good input of friendship, family and love. A lot of good values were instilled and so much of entertaining elements were included like how guys acts among their friends which was hilarious. The story might be a very general story which happens around us. But making it as realistic masterpiece is the directors achievement. Though I find minor glitch which I find illogical in the story, it doesn't affect the movie as a whole.

Cast:Jiiva played Gautham. A very egoistic and serious character. Not so dynamic and very firm. This is one of his best performance. seriously, jiiva brought life to the character. We can see the rage and how he controls the environment around him very well in the movie. Superb acting. Vinay played Shri, one of the bro of gautham. He was equally good. He had a lot of scope to perform eventhough he was not the main character. He contributed a lot for humour in the movie. Santhanam as Baby, the third and final bro. Of course he suppose to be the joker of the group. But some of his one liner doesn't work this time. But of course combination of these three idiots will make you laugh your A** out. Trisha was the lead lady named Priya. Good to see her after so long. She was beautiful and dashing as usual. And she was an added value for the romance since she really had good chemistry with jiiva. Nasser played Jiiva's father. A very loving and silent father. We dont need to teach that guy to act. He was excellent. There were few supporting characters played by Andrea, Abhinay, Varsha Ashwathi and many others.

Screenplay: The director's first achievement was signing a good cast. Good portrayal of guys friendship. It was spontaneous and realistic. Good romantic scenes, thanks to location selection. shooting love scenes at cold countries always works. Good portrayal of fatherly love. Song sequence were well choreographed. The screenplay was not draggy, which makes the movie not so lengthy. There are very valuable messages instilled in the movie. only last two songs the gap was small which looks a bit of a spoiler.

Music: Songs composed by Harris Jeyaraj and was good but typical. Yet it was a mood booster. good BGM.

Plus Point: Story, Cast, BGM, Screenplay and Moral Values.

Minus Point: Minor glitches in story.

Verdict: Awesome entertainer. Will be youngsters preference. Worth watching in cinema.

Irandam Ulagam by Selvaraghavan (Review)

Story:A fantasy love story of  different dimensions. The movie has a lot of hidden messages for the audience. first half of the story will be a sweet and romantic love story while second half will be and adventurous journey in new world. The theme is about spreading love beyond boundaries. It's about changing the world just by spreading love. Having parallel universe subject is a new thing in Tamil cinema. Therefore hats off to Selvaraghavan for breaking the norm. The story is rich and full of fictional elements.

Cast:Both protagonist has 2 characters in this movie. Arya plays Madhubalakrishnan and Maruvan. He plays a social activist for unfortunate people and a brave warrior in a parallel universe. In first half of the movie, Arya's romance skills were absolutely superb. A lot more sweeter side of him and wild character on the other side. One of his best achievement in this movie were his lean muscular body with mild six pack abs. It really brought up the warrior character. And then Anushka as Ramya and Varna. Ramya is a doctor while Varna is a lady warrior who doesn't want to be enslaved. I personally think she is a good actress. She can portray wild lady character very well. Her sword fighting stunts were not bad. Other key characters were played by foreigners.

Screenplay: Good thing about the screenplay is about making white guys speak tamil. In the second world, besides Arya and Anushka, all other characters were played by white guys and girls. And it's so amusing to see them speak in layman Tamil. Second of all how Selva manage to instill the value of love which can change the whole world. It was simply superb. The CGI were not bad except for the climax scene. seriously the CGI can be said an added value. But the war setting was not that good. Can be seen not many junior artists used for battles, seems a bit empty there. The BGM was mood booster. But had some cliche with Moonu BGM. Maybe it's due to Anirudh's touch. The songs were well visualized. I started to love the songs after watching the movie. The first half will definitely be peoples favourite because it's all about romantic scenes between Arya and Anushka. Second half will be draggy moment with a very simple conclusion. That might  be a drawback for the movie. The art direction for the movie was superb.

Music: Songs composed by Harris Jeyaraj were averagely good. The BGM and songs by Anirudh was excellent.

Plus Point: Story, Cast, BGM, Screenplay and Cinematography.

Minus Point: Draggy, and climax too simple.

Verdict: Don't put too much of expectation. Just enjoy it as fantasy product. Don't try to find logic. Can be watched at cinema once.
