AnyBody Can Dance (ABCD) by Remo D'souza (Review)

Story: A story on dance subject. Full of energy and colours. It has all those usual dream achieving plot. Full of drama, small romance, comedy, passion and inspiration. Basically it was a grand set movie in lines with step up series. Maybe one of it's kind in India. But lack of originalty in story. The story was just usual about a guy finding his path and never gives up.

Cast: Prabhu Deva made his way to bollywood as a successful director but now an actor as well. Good choice of cast since he is well known for his extraordinary dance. Seems like he dubbed his own voice for the movie. His speech in Hindi was not convincing but it make sense since he is a Chennaites who stays at Mumbai. When we thought he is old and would not perform his best, but there was scene really made him the King of dance. He never lose his touch. And then we have Kay Kay Menon who played Janghir, rival of Prabhu Deva in the movie who used to be in alliance with him for a dance company. Just a bitchy guy I would say. Was an average cast for the movie of course. And they imported an actress from oversea. She is none other than Lauren Gottlieb, So You Think You Can Dance participant. Ganesh Acharya played Gopi, Prabhu Deva's best buddy. Good moral support i would say. well acted. The rest was particpants of Dance India Dance, Salam Yusuff Khan, Dharmesh Yelande and many others.

Screenplay: Awesome art direction of course. The sets of dancing stage and the practicing hall. The set of Ganapathy special day was awesome. Choreography was first class. Met it's objective of implanting dance in people's heart. Good Background music. Of course what is Dance without music. But certain scenes resembled Step-Up movie scenes. But of course movie of same theme would not differ  much. But the beauty of the movie was giving enough importance to every characters in the movie. A great comeback for Prabhu Deva to show his dance talent eventhough it was just one scene for him.

Music: Composed by Sachin Jigar. Very energetic music, suits the situation very well. played an important role in the movie

Plus Point: Art Direction, Choreography, Music, Casts, Theme

Minus Point: Lack of originalty in story

Verdict: Dance lovers will definitely enjoy the movie. If you liked step-up series and Honey don't miss it.
